For Prospective Interns:
Overview
If you are a graduate student looking for an internship experience where you can develop your clinical skills, receive consistent supervision, and learn how to apply evidence-based treatment, Flexible Mind Therapy may be the right fit for you.
Our practice offers a structured internship experience focused on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Interns will receive training and support in applying DBT principles while working with clients experiencing emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, interpersonal difficulties, and other mental health concerns.
We believe strong clinicians are developed through quality supervision, ongoing feedback, and opportunities to build confidence over time. Interns will be supported as they learn assessment, treatment planning, documentation, risk assessment, and the application of DBT skills in clinical practice.
This is a one-year internship commitment designed for students who are looking for a supportive environment to grow as clinicians while gaining experience in a private practice setting. Interns may have the opportunity to continue with the practice after graduation/licensure if it is a good mutual fit.

At Flexible Mind Therapy, we understand that internship is a time for learning. You are not expected to have everything figured out when you begin. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can develop confidence, strengthen your clinical skills, and learn how to effectively use DBT interventions with clients.
Interns will gradually build their caseload as they become comfortable with the practice, demonstrate clinical readiness, and receive ongoing support through supervision and consultation.
Please note that this internship requires a one-year commitment. Because developing strong DBT skills takes time, interns should expect consistent training, supervision, and feedback throughout their placement.
